Precipitants

Precipitants (ref. Precipitation and flocculation ) are ferric or aluminum compounds which are dosed for phosphate removal into the aeration tank (or inlet / effluent reactor basins). As a result, undissolved salts, Fe- or Al-phosphates are formed. These can then be removed along with the surplus sludge.
